ॐ नमो नारायणाय Om Namo: Narayanaya one of the basic and unique prayer / Chant / मन्त्र / Mantra / Incantation / Hymn / Syllable to salute or pray Lord Vishnu or Narayana, who is one of the deities among trinity, operates the process of preservation of the universe. This mantra literally means: I, the Individual Soul salute my Supreme Soul. “Om” = Supreme Soul or “Parabrahmmam”; “Namo” = Salute; Narayanaya = to the Lord Narayana! I Salute to the Supreme Soul Narayana! The following chant is taken from the Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra – the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu. शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं पद्मनाभं सुरेशं विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं मेघवर्ण शुभाङ्गम् । लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यम् वन्दे विष्णुं भवभयहरं सर्वलोकैकनाथम् ॥ Shaantaakaaram Bhujagashayanam Padmanaabham Suresham Vishvaadhaaram Gaganasadrsham Meghavarnna Shubhanggam. Lakssmikaantam Kamalanayanam Yogibhirdhyaanagamyam Vande Vissnnum Bhavabhayaharam Sarvalokaikanaadham. Who has a Calm Appearance, Who Rests on a Snake or serpent (Adisesha), Who has a Lotus on His Navel and Who is the Lord of Deities or Devas, Who Preserves the Universe, Who is Limitless and Infinite like the Sky, Whose Colour is like the Cloud (Bluish) and Who has a Beautiful and Auspicious Body, Who is the Husband of Devi or Goddess Lakshmi, Whose Eyes are like Lotus and Who is Attainable to the Yogis or Saints by Meditation or Prayer, Salutations to That Vishnu Who Removes the Fear of Worldly Existence and Who is the Lord of All the Lokas or World.
